When you wear a new set of clear aligners, the tray applies light, planned pressure to specific teeth. That pressure starts a normal biological process called bone remodeling. On the pressure side, the periodontal ligament compresses and osteoclasts help resorb old bone. On the tension side, osteoblasts help build new bone.
